Alone, again, in the wilderness; this is not the first nor the last I will march over the river and through the woods to find myself at home.

In nature I find; berries, silence, mushrooms, beauty, water and myself. To rely on yourself to carry your aching feet across an uneven landscape, to pluck the ripe Thimbleberries so tenderly off their stem, to strain your eyes to discover the vibrant Chanterelles beneath a bed of leaves, is to gain security in oneself amongst the laws of Nature.

To get away for just a weekend in the mountains seems to tear at the threads of stress and pain weaved by my day to day. In the wilderness I’ve learned to survive and I leave healed.
