Karla 15'3" Kayak - Custom

$3,995.00

A work of art, made for life. We believe a kayak should be as unique as its paddler. Choose between numerous colors each for your hull, deck, seam, coaming, secondary deck colors (stripes, chevrons, etc.) and more. You can even get customized colors for cordage and logos.

The Karla is the third collaboration between Danish designer Jesper Kromann-Andersen and Current Designs. This installment brings even more nimbleness and wave riding capability to the paddler. Compared to the Sisu, the Karla is slightly shorter and narrower with additional volume in the bow as added measure against pearling. The Karla is a user friendly kayak to being your exploration of the surf zone and facilitate your adventures. Expert paddlers will equally appreciate this dynamic design. Available in fiberglass and Kevlar composite constructions with exceptional outfitting throughout. Also available in a LV (low volume) configuration with a reduced depth of 3/4".

General Information:
Symmetrical Form: Symmetrical form is just as it sounds. The shape is identical fore and aft from the center point of the kayak.
Hull Form
Hard Chine: A hard chine kayak has a well defined edge where the hull bottom meets the sides. This increases the initial stability greatly. Hard chines give defined edging angles and assist in holding an edge.

Shallow V: The “V” shape improves tracking, has a lively feel and delivers very comfortable stability.

Hull Shape
Keyhole Cockpit: A keyhole cockpit blends the openness of a recreational cockpit and the integrated thigh braces of a touring cockpit. The result is an easy to enter and exit cockpit that offers performance, fit, and solid connectivity to the kayak.
