Merrimack Canoe Co

Seat Back

$135.00

Our sturdy seat backs are made to match Merrimack canoe seats. They are built using the same fine ash frames and nylon lacing, and are completely hand made, one at a time. Featuring mortise and tenon joints for strength, and a teflon-lined hinge surface for smooth pivoting to the desired position.

Our seat backs are easy to install and remove, are adjustable, and are built for years of use.

There are two models, bow and stern. The bow seat back is wider to allow it to fit on the wider portion of our seat frames. The bow seat back may be mounted facing either fore or aft, accommodating a solo paddler using the bow seat, or for those occasions where a passenger in the bow is simply enjoying the ride!

Bow Seat Back Width (between mounting points): 17" - Total Width: 18.5"

Stern Seat Back Width: 14.5" - Total Width: 16"

Seat back
5 Stars

The seat back allowed me to stretch my legs and straighten my knees. I was able to paddle twice the distance I normally do.
