Sisu 16' Kayak - In Stock

$3,750.00 - $4,400.00

The second collaboration between Danish designer Jesper Kromann-Andersen and Current Designs brings the Sisu . Slightly wider and shorter than its predecessor the Prana, the Sisu is more nimble and maneuverable as well. The Sisu excels in rock gardens, tide races, wave faces and tours with ease. This exciting kayak is also extremely user friendly for aspiring paddlers to rapidly develop skills and elevate performance. Available in fiberglass and Kevlar composite constructions with exceptional outfitting throughout. Also available in a LV (low volume) configuration with a reduced depth of 3/4".

Approximate Fit:

The Sisu Standard Volume is usually suited for: 6' - 6'6" and 175 - 240lbs

The Sisu Low Volume is usually suited for: up to 6'2" and 130-180lbs

Maximum Load: 400 lbs.
Fiberglass - 52 lbs.
Aramid - 49 lbs.

Standard Options

  • Composite Seam
  • Retractable Skeg
  • Composite Colors
  • Back Band

Premium Options

  • Ritchie Compass Installed - $250
  • Heavy Water Lay-Up - $350

General Information:
Swede Form: Widest behind the cockpit, Swede form has a cleaner, longer, and more slender entry, giving efficient touring speeds and maneuverability. In shorter lengths these kayaks are very responsive. Longer kayaks with this feature have amazing acceleration and track well. Because of the narrow bow they may punch through a steep wave, rather than ride over it.
Hard Chine: A hard chine kayak has a well defined edge where the hull bottom meets the sides. This increases the initial stability greatly. Hard chines give defined edging angles and assist in holding an edge.

Shallow V: The “V” shape improves tracking, has a lively feel and delivers very comfortable stability.

Hull Shape
Touring Cockpit: Touring cockpits are somewhat small to help resist imploding of the spray skirt if hit by a large wave in rough water. They include built-in thigh braces on the cockpit rim to maximize control when edging and rolling. They range from 29” to 35” long, depending on the model.
